Grandstream – UCM6100 Series – Voice Features

Grandstream – UCM6100 Series Voice Features

To help improve communications, productivity and customer service, the UCM6100 series IP PBX includes a host of the most popular voice features that can be customized by an organization for the most impact.

The UCM6100 series uniquely includes several features, for no additional licensing fee, that are often considered optional with other marketplace solutions. These ‘add-on’ features are highly desired by businesses yet are cost-prohibitive for some SMBs. Auto Attendant and IVR are two popular ones. Auto attendant, for example, offers a professional image for an SMB and helps them to appear larger than they are to the outside world. With professional greetings and the ability to route calls immediately to specific departments this helps to aid call distribution and provide faster service.

The Voice Features of the UCM6100 series includes:

  • • Call Routing
  • • Auto Attendant
  • • IVR
  • • Call Forwarding
  • • Call Retrieval
  • • Music on Hold
  • • Call Transfer
  • • Voicemail
  • • Ring Group/Hunt Group
  • • 3-way conferencing (5 conference bridges available which each bridge supporting up to 32 attendees per bridge)
  • • Call Queue
  • • Call Recording – Calls are saved onto internal memory and can be accessed, played and downloaded remotely from Web UI
  • • Call Park
  • • Message Waiting Indication (MWI)
  • • Busy Lamp Field (BLF)
  • • Intercom/Paging
  • • Click to Dial
  • • Multi-Language Support
  • • Call Hold
  • • Do Not Disturb (DND)
  • • Remote extension dialing

Grandstream – UCM6100 Series – What sets it Apart ?

Enterprise-grade Features Catered to SMBs

Smaller organizations have the same communications needs as larger enterprises. Often entry-level IP PBXs for smaller businesses include popular calling features like Caller ID, Call Hold, Call Forward, voicemail, etc., but require additional license fees for more advanced features like auto attendant and IVR. IVR capability comes standard with any UCM6100 series model and is not that sold as add-on module as with other vendor offerings. This provides a significant savings of up to several thousands of dollars. The UCM6100 series has a large 4 Gigabit Flash memory to accommodate features and storage of voice mails, auto attendant, IVR, music on hold, call recordings, etc.

No Licensing or Recurring Fees/Includes Lifetime Firmware Updates

Most IP PBX vendors charge annual license fees for advanced features like IVR. These additional fees are often the determining factor on whether an SMB can afford an on-site PBX. The UCM6100 series has no licensing or recurring fees – a key differentiating factor against other marketplace solutions. All hardware, software features and functions are included. When Grandstream releases firmware updates for the UCM6100 series, those updates are available at no charge for the life of the system.

Auto Discovery of SIP Endpoints & Zero-Configuration Provisioning

Installation and set-up of the UCM6100 series IP PBX is handled with a few clicks of the mouse and minimal manual operation. With no advanced technology degree required, this plug and play phone system incorporates Auto Discovery of SIP endpoints (ATAs, videophones, IP phones, video cameras etc.) that once the device is connected, the system automatically registers the device. Zero configuration provisioning means adding phones or office locations after initial installation is simply handled using the intuitive Web user Interface (UI). For ongoing maintenance and administration, those duties can be handled either internally by staff members or remotely by a systems integrator partner without having to physically visit the office location.

Video Calling and Physical Surveillance Applications

Save time, improve decision-making and reduce travel expenses with real-time video calling. As easy as making a phone call, use a desktop videophone to communicate visually with your customers and employees. For physical security applications, the UCM6100 series integrates and registers any SIP-compliant door access or video surveillance camera for a comprehensive surveillance solution that sends alerts and can be monitored from anywhere.

Mobility Features

As businesses add mobility-based applications for further productivity gains, the UCM6100 series starts SMBs on that journey. Grandstream’s IP PBX appliance adds several mobility-based features to help businesses with single or multi-locations around the globe to take that initial step. Not all SMBs require a comprehensive set of mobility features at the onset. To help small businesses get started, the UCM6100 series supports extension dialing over worldwide locations and can register a user’s smartphone or laptop as an extension on the PBX so that device can make and receive calls wherever the user goes. Users can access important business files remotely; such as call recordings, call detail records (CDR) and voicemail and fax through email forwarding. The UCM6100 series also allows SMBs to monitor their physical business location through live video feeds and receive alerts/notifications from their surveillance cameras on nearly any device that has an Internet connection.

Low Capital Investment and Ongoing Operating Costs

Purchasing an on-site IP PBX can be a more cost-effective solution over time. While the initial investment may be slightly higher than a hosted VoIP solution, factoring the yearly recurring costs of a hosted solution is something that an on-site solution does not require. As a business grows and adds users or applications like video surveillance all that is required is the purchase of SIP phones and cameras. Overall, using an IP PBX with SIP Trunking helps to reduce monthly phone bills, especially long distance charges, by allowing businesses to connect with lower cost VoIP providers.

How Pelco Overcomes Challenging Lighting Conditions

SureVision 2.0, Adaptive Infrared (IR) & Thermal Imaging

Solution Overview

SureVision 2.0 provides Industry Leading Image Quality in the Most Difficult Lighting Conditions.

The Challenges

  • • Image Clarity and Detail in Low Light, Dark Environments
  • • Reflection, Glare and Blooming
  • • Extremely Bright Conditions
  • • Scenes Featuring Multiple Lighting Challenges
  • • Desire Not to Highlight with External Lighting the Very Assets under Protection

But rarely are your lighting circumstances ideal.

Pelco by Schneider Electric has a selection of cameras that produces highly detailed, quality video in challenging lighting conditions, whether it is low-light scenes, no-light scenes or high-contrast environments.

Sarix Enhanced Range with SureVision 2.0

Designed for performance, premium experience, and mission-critical applications, the Sarix Enhanced Range with SureVision 2.0 delivers industry-leading image quality in the most difficult lighting conditions. Featuring next-generation SureVision technology, these IP cameras simultaneously combine wide dynamic range (WDR), low-light and anti-bloom capabilities for clear, detailed images.

And uniquely, Sarix Enhanced Range cameras do this simultaneously – there is no need to choose a setting and change it when lighting conditions change.

The Sarix Enhanced Range is ideal for gaming, critical infrastructure, education and many other mission-critical applications.

Sarix Professional Range with Superior Adaptive IR

The ability to capture and identify important details in the dark, such as faces and license plates, is critical for effective site security and protection. That’s where Sarix Professional Range environmental dome and bullet cameras with Adaptive IR Illumination excel.

While many competing cameras struggle using IR as a source of illumination, oftentimes oversaturating objects as they approach the lens, Sarix Professional Range cameras dynamically optimize exposure settings in the presence of IR to capture the finest details in parking lots, city streets, schools, college

Sarix TI Thermal Imaging

When external lighting is not an option, or when you simply do not want to highlight the very assets you are looking to secure, Sarix TI thermal imaging cameras deliver the detailed image quality necessary to make immediate, informed decisions.

Even in total darkness, through smoke, fog, rain and haze, Sarix TI, along with its suite of intelligent video analytics, allows you to see potential threats that cannot be captured by a standard visible light camera.

From critical infrastructures, ports, and extended perimeters to industrial and even non-security applications, thermal imaging is a powerful solution.

Lighting Accessories

As users move away from the expense, energy consumption and “light pollution” of traditional exterior and flood lighting approaches to security lighting, individual IR and White Light LED illumination provides excellent, efficient solutions for improved video surveillance performance, complementing current camera technology.

Xima Improves Tracking & Handling of Support Requests

In order to improve tracking and handling of support requests, Xima Support has implemented a new system to submit tickets. There is now a button on the Support website, “Submit a Ticket”.

This will open up a window where you enter in some basic contact information, a brief description of the problem you’re having and the Chronicall serial key for the account.

This new process will streamline the way Support receives, handles, and can lookup information about tickets submitted to them to improve response time and efficiency.

Xima – IP Office Compatibility Update

Avaya IP Office Release 10 is coming out in 2016. Xima is excited about this new release for many reasons. Xima has been collaborating with Avaya over the past year on developing a new set of modern APIs that will provide more flexibility and sustainability to Chronicall. Xima has achieved that with IP Office Release 10 and the new ‘DevLink3′ API. Chronicall is ahead of the game and has been logging using the new DevLink3 API for several months now.

Chronicall will use a new and secure way to connect to Avaya IP Office rather than using the non-secure System Monitor interface. This means that Chronicall will employ a secure connection to communicate with Avaya IP Office, via TCP (connection-oriented) and not rely on UDP (connection-less) methods. Chronicall will still collect all the wonderful detailed information from Avaya IP Office that end-users have grown accustomed to but with more reliability and certainty. Therefore, only positive changes and enhancements for Xima’s world-class logging mechanism called Chronicall.

There will be one change on the licensing side: Avaya will now require Chronicall to use the Avaya CTI license on Avaya IP Office Release 10 and beyond.

Xima is excited for the new changes with the new API as this will strengthen the accuracy and longevity of Chronicall and further augments their solid working relationship with Avaya.
