AVAYA IP Office Mobility Solutions

With Avaya IP Office Mobility Solutions, mobile staff never need to miss an important customer call or a question from someone in the office. And they’ll be able to give customers just a single phone number (their office number) where they can be reached regardless of their location.

Personal mobile phone numbers are never given out, but all calls ring simultaneously on their desk telephones and their mobile telephones. So, whether they are at their desks or on their mobile telephones, they’ll get the call.

Mobile platforms:

Android: From a mobile phone or tablet

iOS: From an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch

Mobile Twinning:

Mobile Twinning allows a primary extension (desk phone) and a secondary number (mobile phone) to operate together as a single telephone, when an incoming call is presented to the primary (desk phone) the secondary (mobile phone) will also ring.  If the primary telephone (desk phone) does not ring, for example in Do Not Disturb, the secondary phone (mobile phone) will NOT ring.

Types of calls eligible for twinning:

► Extension to Extension Calls

► Direct Dial to Extension Calls

► Calls Transferred to Extension

► Hunt Group Calls

► Calls Forwarded from another Extension

one-X Mobile Preferred for IP Office:

The one-X Mobile Preferred for IP Office is a mobile application available for Android Smartphones and iPhone Smartphones.  The one-X Mobile Preferred for IP Office application provides rich unified communications capabilities for the mobile workforce and is designed to give mobile users quick access to various forms of communications and help users conduct normal business while on the move.  The application relies on permanent data connection with the communications server and is designed to provide an “always-on” experience delivering asynchronous events of interest to the user as they arrive from the communications server.

REQUIREMENTS for one-X Mobile Preferred for IP Office:

► Preferred Edition License (Voicemail PRO)

► Power User License

► Windows Server or AVAYA Linux Server (to host one-X Mobile)

3rd Party SIP Mobile App:

Take the power of your IP Office desk phone with you; at work, at home or anywhere in-between.

EXAMPLE: Bria Mobile for iOS

Bria Mobile for iOS is a SIP-based softphone for Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that uses a Wi-Fi or Cellular data network connection to make and receive voice and video calls, send messages and see user presence.

► Make HD voice and video calls over IP using H.264 and VP8 codecs for crisp, clear calls

► Send and receive Instant Messages, and share files, videos and images from within Bria

► Create and name public or private chat rooms to streamline conversations

► See user presence in real-time and set your presence status to reduce distractions and increase productivity

► Comprehensive call history panel with access to call details and recordings

Video Surveillance IP -VS- Analog

Video Surveillance systems are a great way to Protect your Home or Business.

DVR -VS- NVR:

Digital Video Recorder (DVR) is “Analog” and runs over Coaxial Cable. (Yesterday’s/OLD Technology)

Network Video Recorder (NVR) is IP and runs over CAT5e/CAT6 Cabling. (Current Technology using the same cabling as PC’s Printers, Routers, Firewalls, IP Phones, etc.)

IP -VS- Analog:

The largest trend in Video Surveillance today is the move from Analog (Coax) Cameras to IP (CAT5e/CAT6) Cameras. While all surveillance cameras are digitized to view and record on computers, ONLY IP Cameras Digitize the Video Inside the Camera. More importantly, IP supports Megapixel while Analog does not. This is rapidly driving the adoption of IP within the professional market.

Storage:

Local Storage would be using a DVR/NVR. Remote Storage would be using Storage in the Cloud Some Video Surveillance systems use Local Storage on a DVR/NVR and offer “Optional” Cloud Storage back-up for a monthly fee.

Viewing Video:

Local Viewing can be accomplished by connecting the DVR/NVR to a Monitor along with a Mouse. Some DVR/NVR’s come with a “TV-Like” Remote Control to control playback. If the DVR/NVR is connected to your “Network”, you should be able download a viewing application to your PC, Laptop, or Tablet and view from them.  Most newer systems offer Mobile applications that can be downloaded to your smartphone for remote viewing. (this requires that your DVR/NVR be connected to the internet)

Video Resolution:

4K Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) has a considerably Higher Resolution than 1080P High-Definition (HD) video. 4K resolution is exactly 3840 x 2160 pixels, while 1080P consists of only 1920 x 1080 pixels.

4K/8-Megapixel (MP) Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) = 3,840 X 2,160 Image size in pixels

2K/4-Megapixel (MP) Super-High-Definition (HD) = 2,560 X 1,440 Image size in pixels

1080P Full-High-Definition (HD) = 1,920 X 1,080 Image size in pixels

720P High-Definition (HD) = 1,920 X 1,080 Image size in pixels

► With Higher Security Camera Resolution, you will Obtain Better Image Quality and Details.

► 4K/8MP UHD Security Cameras Deliver Sharper and Clearer Images than 2K/4MP HD, 1080P HD and 720P HD security cameras.

► 4K/8MP UHD Security Cameras generally have a Wider Field of View (FOV) than 2K/4MP HD, 1080P HD and 720P HD security cameras.

Point-to-Point Wireless Networking

Point-to-Point Wireless Networks are usually deployed between two locations that are in clear Line of Sight (LOS) with each other in other to maximize the performance of the wireless link.

Point-to-Point Wireless (P2P) is a communications connection between two nodes or endpoints. The two units communicate using either Time-Division Multiplexing to allow for Bi-Directional Traffic Flow. For fixed links, this can involve use of high gain directional antennas which enables long distance and high capacity links.

Installing a Point-to-Point Wireless Network can facilitate interconnecting two buildings connecting two IP Ethernet networks without trenching the area. This Point-to-Point Wireless Ethernet solution is very often used in campus environments or to connect two buildings sitting on two different sides of a street, railway, or river.

Point-to-Multipoint Wireless Networking (P2MP, PTMP or PMP): Point-to-Multipoint Wireless Networking is wireless communications accomplished via a distinct type of one-to-many connection, providing multiple paths from a single location to multiple locations.

When installing a Point-to-Multipoint Wireless Network, a central antenna or antenna array broadcasts to several receiving antennas and the system uses either Frequency Division Multiplexing or Time-Division Multiplexing to allow for Bi-Directional Traffic Flow.

Typically, wireless links are used for outdoor/multi-building applications, so the typical deployment includes outdoor access points with directional antennas. However, omni-directional antennas can be used at the root node, if multiple remote nodes are deployed in different directions.

Point-to-Point & Point-to-Multipoint Wireless Networks are often used for Voice, Data, and/or Video Security applications. Usually when the cost of Aerial or Buried Copper/Fiber is very prohibitive, or not an option at all.

ECS is a Wireless Networking company located in Seattle, WA & Portland, OR.
